This original painting by Faith Lund uses oil and acrylic.  The setting is on the grounds of a beautiful Chateau in Bayeux, France.  The subject is an old pigeonnier used in ancient times to harbor pigeons.  Many washes and layers of watered down acrylic paint add a wonderful stone like texture to the subject.  The brush work is impasto producing accents of raised surfaces.  Many layers of both mediums create a delicate surface with a loose approach that enhances the setting.  Contrasting are the crisp lines of the pigeonnier highlighted with light as it washes down the exterior of the building.  One can feel the sensation of a myriad of textures and tones.
