This original painting by Faith Lund uses acrylic washes in creating a large stained canvas. At least 30 layers of paint have been allowed to be carried by a watery surface and evolve into various shapes and forms. As the painting progressed editing choices helped to balance the composition as well as highlight certain areas. The brightness of color plays against the depth of some of the darkest tones. Notice the importance of the edges as they are treated differently in various areas. Due to size the painting takes in one's peripheral vision drawing one into the work.
This painting measures 48" W x 60" H unframed.
